What You Can Learn From Network Marketing Spam

Online Network Marketing Spam

Today I want to address the ugly topic of Network Marketing Spam.

Sometimes we have to talk about the ugly to fully appreciate the beauty in what we do.

My theory of life is that there has to be a balance. If there is good, there has to be bad. If there is beauty there has to be ugly. As far as I can see I have not been proven wrong about this theory yet (wanna debate it?).

With that said lets sit down and pick out the beauty in ugly network marketing spam.

The Beauty Within Network Marketing Spam

Lets face it. If there wasn’t any money to be made with spam people wouldn’t be doing it.

As annoying and unethical as spam is some people are clicking spam links, going through to spam sites and making spam purchases making the spammer a happy chappy / chappess.

So what is it that spammers do to get people to click, offer their details and buy?

And isn’t the bases of what they are doing exactly what we also want to achieve?

Spammers go where the money is. You won’t find spammers spamming about things which people aren’t buying. So they know how to identify buying niches.

Spammers need you to opt-in to their list or make a straight purchase. They need to convince you that what they are offering is genuine and what you need. So they have to be good at copywriting.

Spammers work on their spam activity everyday. I would say they work harder as their conversion rates must be considerably lower than ethical marketers.

Remember, network marketing is a numbers game. This is the reason why they send out so many emails. I know your inbox can testify to this. This shows that they are working on their business daily to get the results they require.

The lessons you can learn from the network marketing spam can be very valuable to your business (just don’t buy from them).

Take a look at how they use copy to get the clicks they want.

Observe their work rate. I am not saying to start going over the top with emailing your list, but if spammers can get people to click using the power of communication I am sure you can to.

Take the beauty out of ugly network marketing spam and make it work for you.

If you like what you have read, share it with your online world. Chances are they will like it to and thank you for sharing it with them.

Happy Monday

LOL, Great topic this morning. Last night I trashed 18 spam comments on my blog. 4 The night before. They were hard at work over the weekend!

Something is clicking in the back of my mind that I read somewhere that they have better conversion rates than those of us who legitimately work our business'. Not sure if I'm correct on that or not. I wish I could remember whose blog that was on.

Regardless, in the end, they will purge themselves. People will realize they have been taken in some way, shape or form, and their hard work will go down the drain.

Have a great week!

Copywriting is one of the most beautiful skills one can learn. Instead of spamming people one can write eye catching headlines that can focus on people's problems they are having in their daily lifes instead of pitching them with their products, business plans etc. Now how about this headline “Want to retire early and watch your son play football”….human are emotional creatures and they will take those decision based on emotions and then justify them with
logic. Thanks for the post Dwayne

Great post, and I suppose there is something to learned from even Spam. That said, I can only imagine that spam is a numbers game – the more they spam, but better change of capturing someone's attention.

Hey Dwayne,

The one thing that I'll add is Spammers go hang out where people are. So, we as marketers need to do the same thing. Go hang out where the people are hanging out at.

Chat with you later…

Interesting angle on the spammers Dwayne.

I give the one thing they definitely go for “massive action” – But obviously we want people to take massive action but in the right way.

Thanks for this post.

How is it that it never occurred to me? Such a simple point, yet it makes so much sense.

Thanks for giving me some food for thought today, Dwayne!

Hey Twila

it topic was kind of inspired by you. Not that your a spammer in anyway. But I got the idea for it when you emailing me about the spam over at your great blog.

I kinda just tried to see the good in the sea of pointlessness!

Copywriting is a true art form. It is open to abuse just like anything else.

Welcome to my online world

There is lessons to be learned from everything we do or don't do. 1st you have to see where the lesson is then you have to be willing to learn it.

Sounds like they were on hyper drive over the weekend. Even JB got attacked by them.

What a waste of talent.

Dwayne the optimist…I like that! I think a lot of us were ambushed over the weekend. The thing is, they are not linking to their own stuff, that's what is so strange about it. They are taking other peoples comments and using them and linking back to the original commenters site. After replied earlier to your post, I ended up with 13 more this morning. Thanks for putting a positive spin on it!

Hey Dwayne,

Spammers definitely play the numbers game!

The thing is, it just doesn't work with our business model because we need to form a working relationship with people in order to sponsor them… This is why MLM'ers are wasting their time when they spam.

Dwayne,

Great points that you bring to light here. If we all were as focused and worked as hard as some spammers do, I think we'd all be surprised at how big our businesses would be.

Of course, if the spammers would work as hard on doing the right things…I bet they'd have a surprise of their own. :)

Talk soon,

Mike

I like your perspective on this! I would have never thought of it that way. I will certainly be looking at the spammers in another way. I better get to my email and start reading LOL. :-)

Hey Dwayne,

Great positive spin on the spamming activity. It's always nice to be able to sift through the ugliness out there and find the good stuff hidden within. Silly as those spammers may be, we can still learn a thing or two…

Hey Dwayne,

They work so hard at being unethical, can you imagine if they put that same work into a legitimate business?

This is a different take on it, something to learn from. And hey, they're spamming free of charge, so may as well learn something from it! lol

Sometimes it takes the bad to appreciate the good. Same can be said for spam, I really appreciate the quality more when I'm done deleting the spam. Breath of fresh air!

Make it a great day!

Dwayne,

Very ironic mate. It just goes to show, whether for good or for evil you can get results when you are consistent.

I agree with Derek, spamming is purely a numbers game – doing anything to get the sale. MLM is a numbers game in terms of the marketing funnel, but turns into a relationship building game once you get in touch with a lead.

Shame they use their powers for evil not good huh?

Freaking annoying!

I'm getting around 100 spam comments a day on just one of my sites… so kudos to them for dedication! lol

Some spam comments and emails actually make me laugh, yesterday I was “wanted” by the FBI. All i had to do was send money to Africa and it would go away….

Still shaking my head over that one,
Matt

Hey Ken

Welcome to my online home.
Good can be drawn from anything if we open our minds to it. Spammers use this concept in reverse.

My dad used to same “people are programmed to self destruct”. In this case we know they can use there abilities to create a great ethical business, but its just not in their nature to do so. They prefer the self destruct road.

Hey Wayne

Very ironic.
All business is a numbers game. Some people use their time and talents for good some don't. That's just the way it is

I hope you sent them all your money. You can't have the African FBI on your case – Ha.

Hi Dwayne,

Been on the end of this lately too and it is annoying. Trying to understand what motivates people to do what they do is pointless. I tried for a long time to understand why people in my team also do nothing and I have no answer for this either. There's no easy solution here except to say that the least attention we afford these critters the better.

Cheers

Talk about annoying.

You never really knows what makes these people do this. If only they could channel their energy into good qualities that produce long lasting results. I just learned that I had to not worry about these people as I will never be able to figure it out. Perhaps one day they will have a breakthrough or you never know, they may even visit this post and it will hit them like a ton of bricks.

Now that would be something.

Hey Dwayne,

The beauty of spam huh? You make some great points. Just the work that goes into software is admirable. It makes me think of hackers making viruses or the BN spam hacker. If they put that effort into something constructive they could be industry leaders instead of industry leeches.

Dwayne Huggins April 27, 2010 at 20:34

I dont think its a case of them not knowing they can use their skills legitimately. I think they actually prefer the spammy shady ways.

Its is similar to drug dealers, from the middle men up they all have a brilliant business mind, but they just prefer to use it for the quick deal with high risk, instead of the safe long term option.

Dwayne Huggins April 27, 2010 at 20:35

There's good and bad in everything which is plan to see. The quick immediate fix is what these people are after, unfortunately.
