As online marketers we will chew our right arm off to get some good quality traffic coming to our sites, right?
Well, what if I told you that Traffic Is Not Your Problem. What your would you say in response to that?
Ok, what if someone who knew this industry more extensively than me told you that traffic was not your problem, what would you say to them?
You see there are things you can do to get traffic (and lots of it), PPC, SEO, Social Media etc. The real issue isn’t getting the traffic. The problem is keeping the traffic you get entertained.
Why Isn’t Getting Traffic The Problem?
My internet brother from another binary mother Jim Yaghi wrote a thought provoking post which really hits the nail on the head with this way of thinking.
Go check it out Traffic Is Not Your Problem.
There is a great conversation going on over there on his blog so please add your $0.02 to the chitter chatter.
For those of you who don’t know who Jim is, he is a traffic getting junkie. He can get traffic as easily as you turn on your taps. He has been online marketing for a long while and is damn good at it.
He is in the perfect position to explain to you why just getting traffic isn’t enough.
You will be doing yourself a huge favor by checking out his blog post.
That’s all from me today.
Chat soon. See you over at Jim’s

Hey Dwayne,
I read this post too. Yes I totally agree with you and jim. What is all that good if the traffic doesn’t converts. Get your glider to fly first then add an engine to it as put by another adwords Guru Perry Marshall. So when your glider is flying or your website is converting then we can focus on the engine or the traffic. Thanks for pointing.

hey thanks.
A killer point of Jim:” help unimaginative people to be even LESS imaginative!” he’s right. I had also tried that doublicatable system that didn’t work. We have to cultivate imagination, rather than taking something already set, and try to promote it.
Another killer point: “traffic is NOT your problem. Being boring is!” WOW, he ‘s damn right man. Successfull bloggers are very creative and also hard working.

Hi Dwayne!
I just read Jim Yaghi’s article. Amazing and powerful! Thanks for leading me to it.
Dwayne,
I am going through your Guide to Blogging step by step. When I purchase the upgraded Thesis or Yoohoo for Wordpress themes, is it okay to just purchase the basic website and then pay for an upgrade if I desire.
Your blogging article is very easy to understand and extremely helpful:)
Thanks.
Marti Norris
Sorry for the late response.
Yes it is possible to go basic then upgrade.

You are absolutely right. The point of getting traffic is so they keep coming back to the blog!

That’s very true. I know how to generate traffic using SEO and PPC, but what’s most challenging to me is to convert the traffic into sales. I often read on various articles that a 1% conversion rate is the standard, but honestly, on most of my sites I’m far from a 1% rate.

Hey Bob.
Everything works hand in hand. Each part of the puzzle is just as important as the next. Conversion is an art-form much like SEO and PPC. Keep test things to see what works best with your audience
I am with you Dwayne Huggins. Everything does work hand in hand. Check if there is a missing piece.
Thanks for sharing this link to a interesting take on how people aren’t properly utilizing the traffic they already receive. Traffic numbers talk in the world of blogging, but performing traffic numbers count in the world of making money online.

I totally agree with the point traffic is not the real problem, being boring is! I check on so many blogs every day and it’s such a pity to see how many of them FAIL to entertain their readers-for some of them it’s just plain copy-pasting and those who have little bit of imagination(and time) they will attempt to rephrase some of the words but the idea clearly was copied!! People, it’s about time to realize that blogging is all about talking on something you’re passionate about-it’s not only about money making!
