I Got 99 Problems Being A Network Marketer Is Not 1

in Network Marketing

We All Have Problems. Some More Than Others

I got asked the other day, what do I say to people when they ask me what I do. I immediately answered that I am a Network Marketer. The following question was don’t I feel strange answering like that. To which I said NO, why should I?

The person went on to explain that he feels a little bit embarrassed to say he is a Network Marketer because of the ‘stigma’ that is attached to it.

WOW! I thought. Imagine what that mindset is doing to his business.

There are all sorts of problems issues and turmoils which people go through in life. I have my fair share as I am sure so do you, but being a Network Marketer definitely isn’t one of them.

Being A Network Marketer

  • In no other industry do you meet so many amazing, like-minded people, all striving for success, most breaking their backs to help as many other people as possible.
  • In no other industry do you get to make an unlimited amount of money being yourself.
  • In no other industry can you build a fortune starting from under $100.
  • In no other industry does everyone start on the same level playing field.
  • By being a successful network marketer you have to become a better person. Your life skills, mind-set, self development all work hand in hand with being successful in your network marketing business.

Being a network marketer is something to be proud of. If you are hiding away from all that being a network marketer is you are only adding to the ‘stigma’ that is out there. You are giving people reason to believe in the stigma.

The Network Marketing Stigma (We have all heard them)

  • Its a scam
  • Its a pyramid
  • It doesn’t work
  • People at the bottom never make any money
  • The big companies are just using you as cheap labour

(feel free to add any stigmas which you have come across).

Lets Look At The Facts

In all industries there are a small minority of people who do partake in scams and fraudulent activity. To say it doesn’t, hasn’t or won’t happen in network marketing would be telling you a lie.

Look at the banking industry (in any country). There is untold amount of scams and fraudulent activity going on there on a daily basis, but I bet your money is still in a bank, right?

Oil. Wars have started over oil, but that still gets used. So we can’t escape the minor few who intentionally seek to destroy a good thing for their own self gain.

We can however be like the majority and stand true to what we believe is true. Promote the goodness. Lead the way to show what can be achieve in-spite of the negativity.

Network marketing is not a scam, scams don’t last. Look how long the network marketing industry has been around.

Network marketing is not a pyramid. Pyramids are illegal in most countries (if not all). You can’t build an illegal company which has thousands of reps, millions of customers and gets on the stock exchange. It just won’t happen!

Network marketing does work. There are way to many success stories to prove its true.

People at the bottom do make it, because everyone starts at the bottom. If you know a way to start a network marketing business with hundreds of pre-qualified leads waiting for you to sign them up, please let me know!

Its not cheap labour for the companies. Ask Mike Dillard how much his company pays him on a weekly or monthly basis. – Hint its more than what most make in a year!

Be A Proud Network Marketer

Spread positivity throughout. Level the stigma and push on with the goodness.

If you don’t believe in what you are doing as a network marketer your business will not work. You will not be successful.

Life will dish you your fair share of problems. Network marketing when done properly and with integrity can be the answer to most of them.

What does being a network marketer mean to you?

A Proud Network Marketer

Happy Friday Dwayne,

Love your topic here.

Every time I hear the “it's a scam” or “it's a pyramid” it makes me cringe. However, with you're assessment by looking at the facts, you hit nail on the head.

You painted a good picture to really take stock to what these sayings are. I believe when people are often saying these, it's fear bellowing up in them.

For me… What a network marketer means to me is to guide with integrity! That sums it up for how I do business.

Have a GREAT weekend.

Hey Dwayne,
I write often about the stigma that a lot of people have about the industry in general. It is crazy for those of us who know the truth about the business that people think the way they do about this business. The more we can put out stuff and educate the masses, the less and less there will be any kind of perceived stigma.

Keep on preaching the gospel and we can change the mindset of people outside of the industry,

Hey Wayne

Old news, bad news, stigmas, fear. People use these to talk themselves out of a good thing. Such a shame.

Hey Dwayne,

Great job with this post! If someone is not excited with what they are part of. How do they expect to win! When I first started my business, I use to hear that stuff. Now, I repel it…It's been a long time I've heard it or in my business.

If that is what you think, then you will attract it. I personally repel that kind of stigma.

Have a great weekend…
Josh

This is one of the best articles I've read. I LOVE the way you address each issue.

Your approach to this topic is what really puts it over the top. I've heard other versions of this, but this is my favorite.

Thanks Dwayne for a wonderfully written article!

Hey Josh

We have to repel this stuff otherwise it will hold us back.
I do find it hard to believe that people still think this stuff but they do. The only way to overcome it is to be proud and deal with the facts of network marketing

This is a great post.

If were able to really dig I think most people who hate Network Marketing do so because of an interaction they had with a PERSON, not a company.

I am very happy to see more and more Network Marketers conducting themselves as business people; learning and practicing sound business principles.

Hey Dwayne,

Network marketing has introduced me to some of the coolest and least selfish people I have met anywhere. I would choose this business over any in the world.

Hey Other Half Of Team Alvarez

Welcome Monique to my growing ideas pool. It is great to see you here.

True, people are the cause of all the “ill feeling” towards network marketers and the industry. Which means that it's PEOPLE who can create a “better feeling” towards us. We can do this by being proud, honest, supportive and deal with all people with high levels of integrity.

Thank you for your comment.

Hope to see you here more often.
