How To Get An Avatar

There are a few online brand YOU Inc. people flying around the internet faceless. They go the peoples blogs and leave great comments but because they are faceless they aren’t easily remembered.

With that said I feel it’s my duty (as a fellow YOU Inc. creator) to help these people out. Guide them in the right direction as to how to get their face next to their words and leave a real lasting impression.

Gravatar.com Is Simple To Use

  1. Get / locate a picture which you want to use as your Avatar
  2. Go to http://gravatar.com
  3. Sign up for a Gravatar account
  4. Confirm email address
  5. Once confirmed, sign in at Gravatar.com
  6. Go to My Accounts
  7. Add email address which you want your avatar to go along side (you will need to confirm this email address)
  8. Go to Add Image
  9. Choose from the 4 options how to upload your avatar
  10. Go to Manage and select the email and the avatar

Job done.

Now any where that you put your chosen email address which will allow avatars, your avatar will come up and your words will now have a face.

Hey Dwayne,

Great advice. There are so many people out there without a face, trying to make a name for themselves. I even set my wife up a Gravatar account so when she comments on my blog she has a pic with it.

thanks for putting a face on the community.

Hey Dwayne,

Great video! More folks need to learn this so we can put a face on some of the great comments we get. I was excited when I learned how to do this!

Have a great weekend…

Hey Dwayne,

I will have to agree that everyone needs a face with their comments. It is, in essence, the face of your brand.

Cheers for the video.

Dwayne,
Glad someone put this out for everyone to see. Somebody had to tell me I should get gravatar so people could put a face with my comments.

Definitely great advice,
Eric

Hey Wayne

Words are cool, but a pic can also say a 1000 words! You wrote a blog post along the same lines recently from what I remember.

Its so simple to do its kinda silly not to. In my opinion everyone who is serious about branding themselves online should have an avatar.

Thanks for passing by Eric

Hi Dwayne,

It's great to get that face next to your name and comments. You sure made it easy to do with this post.

I know I've been asked how to do it, and explained. You have done an outstanding job of explaining both WHY and HOW.

Thanks!
