To some this may seem like a silly question. To others it maybe an awakening. How important to you is your network marketing company?
What were the facts about the company which helped to form your decision to become a distributor?
Did you research the company first or did you sign up through persuasion / recommendation from a friend?
Do you believe in the company and all they offer? (Comp plan, products, etc?)
If you wasn’t getting paid, would you still standby and promote your companies products or services?
Network Marketing Companies
There are thousands of network marketing companies with a wide range of products. Somewhere in the broad spectrum of network marketing choice there must a company which provides a product or service which you fully agree with. A product which you will promote and stand behind regardless of the comp plan. You know it will benefit others in a way that know other product can. You and this network marketing company make the perfect business marriage.
Are you in a company like this?
When I first became a network marketer it was through a company which provides a very good service to residential and small to medium businesses. By using these services the customer can save a considerable amount of money annually. The comp plan is good, the training and support is good. There are a lot of team events and company events through out the year. On paper I can not fault the company. I am happy to be a part of them.
But when I questioned myself, would I promote this company if I wasn’t getting paid? I don’t think I would. I may mention them in passing, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get a person to use the services or become a distributor. << Conflict
If this is the case, then I’m not really going to give this company my all. If I don’t give the company my all I will never reach as far as I can go in the company. Would you not agree?
Yes, it is possible to be successful in a company which you have no real feeling towards, I know this. There are countless network marketers who have join many network marketing companies and they have obtained success in these companies. I know its possible, but could they of achieved more, gone further, been more successful?
Where My Head Is At
Lately I have been noticing a change in me. A good change. A more thoughtful, progressive, change. My eyes have been widened to the vast opportunities, systems, and businesses out there.
I love the fact that WE can chose the network marketing company we want to represent. This means that the company has to meet our standards and not the other way round. How many jobs have you had that you didn’t like? If you are still employed now are you in the job that you want to be in?
The majority of employed people are working just to get the money. It’s not the job they want, it’s the job they have settled for. How many people do you know wanted to work in a call center when they got older? NONE I reckon, but yet look how many people do.
How many people do you know are just settling for just any network marketing company?
I am in the middle of making a decision on a new primary. As you will know it’s all about up-front honesty from me. So I don’t mind telling you that I now feel I understand this industry a lot better. I want to chose a network marketing company which I really believe in. A company that I can get my teeth into and really give it my all. You see I have been growing the front end of my business, my sales funnel, but due to my conflict with my primary I haven’t been pushing it as much as I should be doing. It is still offered and if someone decides they want to join I will support them through it, but I want a company which I will be comfortable to really promote to it’s fullest. (I have 2 in mind which I am currently doing my research on).
Retention In Network Marketing
A reason for low retention in network marketing I think, is the fact that people don’t really chose their network marketing company properly. They don’t join based on their core beliefs. There is no emotional bond to the product or services and so its easy to switch when the going gets tough.
If the company was offering a product / service which they really bonded with then they would push pass the difficult times, the tough times to see the results. They would spend the time to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to make their business a success, instead of jumping to the next company hoping for some immediate success as soon as they sign on the dotted line.
Have Your Say
I know this is an age old debate, but I would love to get your opinion on it. Tell us in the comment box
Is the network marketing company really that important or is it all down to the marketing?
I know some people believe that if you have a steady flow of leads passing through your sales funnel, then some are going to join your primary offer regardless of what the primary offer is. It’s a numbers game. Throw enough through the system and some will stick.
Can this thinking be imporved or enhanced by actually liking the product / services?

Hey Dwayne,
I really believe that products/service don't move people…People move products/services. If someone who doesn't take vitamins will not wake up in the morning and say “I want a vitamin.” Someone will have to show them the benefits of taking the vitamin.
Now, if you are in a business that deals with vitamins and you don't feel that vitamins are important. You are correct you will not be able to succeed to the fullest.
It takes courage to write what you wrote on this post…The beauty is that you are promoting 'you' therefore you can go anywhere and succeed with the knowledge and tools you have.
Chat with you later…

Hey Josh
Thank you for your input.
People are sold to via the words we use to sell to them. Our words are more powerful when we have genuine emotion attached to them. Therefore if a person really likes the product/service they are selling that will show up in their words make the selling process easier.

Hi Dwayne,
Great post, I really enjoyed it. I feel it helps to have that passion for your primary opportunity's product(s). My problem was that the “passion” was hurting my recruiting because that is all I talked about. We have the best company, best products, best compensation plan. It wasn't until I read Magnetic Sponsoring that I started to understand the difference. Once in a while, I do have trouble separating the two, but now I am able to promote “me” as the network marketer and then my primary business for others interested in product. I am able to use my magnetic personality for both. Your effect as a Alpha Networker is a huge advantage for you when choosing a new opportunity. You already have the skills, I think having that passion could only help not hurt you.
I had a gentleman promoting a new opportunity and since a big time casino/real estate giant had his name on it, he thought I would be crazy not to jump ship and join him. I asked the gentlemen, “Is he selling the products for you?”, lol. He didn't have much to say and I ended up getting him into my marketing funnel. Keep up what you're doing and good luck with the search.
Tommy
Hey Tommy
Welcome, glad you have passed by.
Nice bit of reverse promoting there with the 'celeb' guy.
Magnetic Sponsoring is such a powerful book. It has changed so many marketers lives.
Alpha Networker is also great. I can see that being another great seller for the MS team.
Passion for the product like you say will greatly help your efforts when promoting your business.
As we all know people buy people so when they see the 'controlled' passion in you, they will be eager to buy & join.
Yes, nice post! Honest and complelling!
Hey Lavinia
Thanks. Hope to see you here again
