One thing life has taught me is this. You can’t avoid pain. The same is true for any business including network marketing, pain it there.
There are two pains which we all suffer.
The pain of REGRET
OR
The pain of DISCIPLINE
I can guarantee you are suffering one of these pains right now…. Allow me to explain.
The Pain Of Regret
You feel this when you know you haven’t done all you can do, to get you all that you should have. The pain of regret can be short term and long term. It’s a pain that doesn’t have to be discussed, broadcasted or made obvious to others. YOU know when you haven’t given your best, and YOU know that’s the reason why YOU don’t have all you should have. Compounded over time the pain of regret will have a devastating effect on your life, your loved ones and your business.
The Pain Of Discipline
You feel this when you do all you can, to get all you should have. It is short, to medium term pain which will never go, but will get considerably less. It’s is a pain that will be very apparent to others. YOU know you have given your best, and YOU know that this is the reason why you are now blessed with all the things YOU now have / have access to. Compounded over time this will unlock all your dreams and goals. It will have an amazing impact on your life, your loved ones and your business. It is the complete opposite of the pain of regret.
Pain In Your Network Marketing Business
Lets look at the stats. 97% of all network marketing businesses fail. That’s a lot of people feeling a lot of pain. All of those people will be feeling the pain of regret. They may want to blame the company, the product, their uplines, the marketing methods, the compensation plan, the dog next door, the bird which woke them up every morning, whatever else. The reality is that they failed in their network marketing business because they did not give it there all. The pain of disciplining themselves to do the hard work, the long hours, the sacrifices, the self development, the research was to much for them, so they quit. Now every time they see another successful network marketer, doing well, living well, the pain of regret bubbles to the surface.
I heard about these pains from my mentor the late, great Jim Rohn (R.I.P). I have never met Jim, but I listen to him and his philosophies all the the time. He was the first person who taught me that I was to blame for the regret I was feeling in my life, and he showed me the way to not feel that pain anymore.
How Not To Feel The Pain Of Regret In Your Network Marketing Business
You will be glad to know there is away out. It will involve the pain of discipline. Look at the pain of discipline as ‘sweet pain’. Similar to child birth…
Ladies. Before you start scripting your comments for me (I know what your thinking, ‘what does he know about childbirth? Sweet pain my a**). Here me out.
For 9 months women suffer the pain, discomfort, uncertainty, etc, etc of childbirth. On the day she gives birth and is blessed with a beautiful baby all the pain they had been through for 9 months is now all worth it. So much so they go on to have more and more children. = Sweet Pain! (By the way, us men suffer the pain also, we have to put up with you guys during the 9 months
)
The pain of discipline is doing all you can to make your business a success. It means accepting the first step. You and you alone is the only person responsible for the success of your business. You have to make the sacrifices to make it happen. You have to self develop as a person. You have to do the long hours, late nights, early mornings. Whatever it takes to become one of the 3%.
The Upside To The Pain Of Discipline In Your Network Marketing Business
You have taken responsibility for your success. You have read the books (which are really maps / guidelines to your future). You have taken the harassment from your nearest and dearest for not spending as much time with them as you used to. You have seen what 5/6am looks like, and what working late at night when the whole house is asleep feels like.
Now like a new born baby, your business is starting to do well and flourish. You can see the fruits of your labour, and it feels great. You persist with your disciplines, but now your find them easier, more enjoyable. More fruits start to bear. You are now in a position where you no longer have to work late or get up early. You have time which you can now spend with your loved ones, guilt free and without the pain of regret. You still have disciplines which you need to stick to, but life is now as it should be. You have the time to look for that dream house, go on those dream holidays (plural), drive the dream cars, do whatever you feel to do. Money no longer dictates your decision. All this and so much more because you suffered the pain of discipline for a short to medium time. Sweet pain.
Are You In Pain?
Which pain are you currently feeling?
Be honest with yourself. If it’s the pain of regret, remember you can change. The difference is within you.
If discipline is your pain, well done. Keep on keeping on, your sufferings will soon be worth your while.
